Routine maintenance work has started, but major equipment overhauls that need support from approved specialist suppliers has had to be postponed while further funds are raised. The Trust estimates that if nothing untoward is found, the service will cost just over £400,000.

Fradley (UK): Clean vehicle technology specialist Zytek has won a £1.35 million grant from the UK Government’s Regional Growth Fund to support the development of an Electric Powertrain Technologies Centre. Based at the company’s technical centre in Staffordshire (UK), the new facility will create 44 jobs developing low carbon technologies for the automotive and other industries.

Order book of €1 billion follows major investments in chassis technology, facilities and process improvement

Dayton, Ohio – Global braking and chassis systems specialist BWI Group has won new business worth €1 billion in the last year, with four major new customers joining the company’s order book since 2010. In the two years since becoming an independent business (November 2009), BWI Group has been making substantial investments to expand its existing production and development footprint, with new facilities in China and India. The Asia-Pacific region has generated around 30 percent of the bookings and BWI expects its development to support vehicle manufacturers’ expansion in Asia’s fast-growing automotive markets.
